I have an 01 Ninja 500R. How do you check the oil level? I pulled the little cap off the clutch on the right side of the bike and I didn't see any oil. The dealer I bought it from said they change the oil as part of their service, and they are like the biggest Harley dealer in FL, so I guess they did it right. The oil light has not come on while the bike was running or anything, it is just I want to know how I check it. Thanks all

one of the 500 guys will be able to answer you with 100% certainty but if your oil filler plug doesnt have a dip stick there should be a site glass on the same side of the motor. the bike needs to be upright and it should have a high/low mark on it.

You can get an owners manual from a dealer for about $5, it's indispensible.

Hey man, don't be sorry. I am new too. I've had my bike for two months now and I am loving it. I've learned a lot on this forum, and you will too. I look at it this way...no stupid questions. No one is born knowing all this stuff anyway, so if I don't know, I am going to ask someone who does :D '
Peace!
