1992 ZX-7R engine rebuild

The first thing that you would want to be sure to do is apply engine oil to all threads. Depending on whether you are using new conn rods and bolts the torque specs vary. If you are using all new the conn nuts are torqued to 13ft/lbs, next you need to mark the nut at a corner and also a corresponding mark on the cap. Then you tighten the nuts 120 degrees more or the equavelant of 2 corners. However if all the parts are not new then the torque varies. The crankcase bolts that are 8mm are torqued to 20ft/lbs and the 6mm ones to 14.5 ft/lbs. I would suggest purchasing a Kawasaki service manual for this bike due to the exacting tolerances of everything in the motor. If you have any questions please contact us at 1-800-556-3098.
