let the novel begin :lol:

first the trip was fantastic, perfect weather logged 730 miles in 2 days
i highly recommend 29 dreams motorcycle resort in central alabama
if you want a nice place to rest after riding.
all i can say about the roads is "holy crack smokin' penquins"
like many places a sport rider's heaven :D - doing it on a 700lb cruiser
is another story
we had 16 bikes and made the trip incident free
except for a couple of parking lot spills by some new riders-4 to be exact
2 harleys,1 nomad,1 vtx 1800,

the 1600- i am very surprised how great this bike handles
i really rode it hard and it responded in a most sure footed way
do not be afraid to corner the bike but be aware i did feel some
front brake fade after riding all day-so try not to use it too much
the back brake felt fine and i did not notice significant fade.
lots of shifting 2,3,4, i mean ALOT! and the tranny performed flawlessly
of course the interstate riding was just a breeze 80mph is barely
working the bike. gas mileage was 34 combined,
i did experience some pinging at WOT but not severe

the trip did raise some questions about camping on a motorcycle
that i'll post later(i stayed in a cabin) as i took notice of how folks
pack there bikes and what equipment they used (tents, etc)

glad to be home 8)
