I'm Getting A Dirt Bike!!!!
Well, actually I am buying it for the wife, kid, and myself. My wife of course wants and auto while I want something bigger...The trade off is if I get bigger then they can't ride it and this dream dies...So We are looking at two bikes...
Yamaha TTR 125LE
Yamaha TTR 125E
Yamaha TTR 110
I of course do not want the 110 but my wife liked it because it was auto...I want the 125LE because she can grow into it and I get the compromised bigger bike...However, she can grow into the 125LE which means I can get the bigger bike I really want shortly there after...The KLX 140 is coming out in February but more than I want to spend for the family at this time since this XMas has already been very expensive and I am not sure they are going to get into it.
We have trails where I live and some dirt parks like Carnegie...So hopefully my family can get into this, which means more bike.
Regardless, they are fairly cheap...125LE is $2199 OTD...

I'd say the perfect bike for you guys is the KX100, but then it's quite a bit more dosh.
Of the bikes you listed, I think you've already zeroed in on the right one, the 125LE is the ticket.

Thanks bro...I like the 125LE...But now I have to force the auto issue...Which eliminates the little girl...She rode the scooter I got her twice so that will help my cause. I can't wait...We have a cool trail behind us with a jump and some cool turns so I am stoked silly.Congrat's....you'll have a blast.

Even I do not want to kick start...Push button and fly! Yeah I am going to go today and look at the LE and prep the sales rep to up sell the LE to my wife. Nah to ATVs for now...I was looking at a 250 but that was out of the picture for her...She wants something sedate...I want something I can grow on and the 125 will not do it, but it is a door for me to get into something bigger later...Jeez I need Saturday here now!!!! Just transferred the funds from a slush fund...I hope that guy can up sell my wife...I will try. If we get the TTR 110, I will out grow that in under a week.I guess those would be good starter bikes.

I would stay away from the 110. Your wife may think she only wants an auto know, but I know she will get very, very bored with it. The LE should be a good bike to start with, plus they are awesome for wheelies, nose wheelies, small jumps, and just for playing with in general.

Most of my machines have been and are Yamaha's, and I hang out here, way more than at any other forum. I agree this place is addictive.It will be a Yamaha but I can't leave this addiction to this place easily hahahhahaha:biggrin:
Most of the people I know ride Yamaha and Honda...I am the only Kawi guy...This forum is not full of the drama which is good.Most of my machines have been and are Yamaha's, and I hang out here, way more than at any other forum. I agree this place is addictive.

I have never got bitten by the dirtbiking bug... but it intrigues me. The idea of doing jumps, and most of all powersliding :biggrin: is a big turn on for me. I am also convinced that dirtbiking really helps road-riding as well, in terms of feeling fully in control of the bike and not getting scared when things start to go wrong... hell on a dirtbike it's wrong all the time!!!
