hey i got an 00 kx125, i just flushed all the fluids after it has been sitting about one year. i started it up just fine after cleaning the carb and im not suite sure if it is making a bad noise. the noise is coming from the cylinder head where the exhaust is coming out it sounds like a tinging sound is this piston slap??? how do i fix it?? or is this normal...?

well... "ping, ping, ping" is sort of par for the course on a small 2-stroke engine... if it's excessive you might have some trouble, but as long as power is there and the compression is good I think you're fine. Is this your first 2-stroke bike? and oh yeah... you are running 2-stroke oil with it right?

yea its the right oil

ok because i had a yz125 before and it was making aping noise that i thought was normal also, later in the day there was a hole in the piston and screwed up the cylinder and head....being safe this time
