Hello Piston Poppers,

I'm in process of reconditioning a 83 KZ750 L3 and part of my final stage is to work on my carbs, I have a 4-1 exhaust and a K&N filter, I was wondering if I had to re-jet the carb with this new set-up??? Specs below...

Mikuni BS34

Needle Jet - Y-9
Jet Needle - 4BE4-3
Non US 37.5

Not sure what is new in the setup, but if it is a change to a free flowing air filter system, and the addition of a four into one exhaust, the answer is you need to rejet.

Usually the exhaust manufacturer will provide you with a chart of recommended jet sizes and needle position or replacement information. If they have not, then I would send the exhaust system back, as each one is unique and has different jetting requirements.
