It's a known fact that the clutch spring on the 1500 classic is not strong enough as they get more miles on them. The mean streak clutch spring is stronger and the "judges washers" are thin spacers thats added to stiffien the clutch spring up even more. The good thing is there's no difference in the clutch lever pull because it's hydraulic. I changed mine at about 30,000 miles.
