On their "kawasaki.ca" (Canadian) website, Kawasaki lists Canadian MSRP for a Vulcan 1500 Classic as $11,700 and a 1600 Classic as $15,500. The ".com" (US) website lists the 1500 for US $9,700 and the 1600 for US $10.7. So in Canadian dollars, the 1600 is 32% more than the 1500, while in US dollars the 1600 is only 10% more.
In Canada, the MSRP difference between Cdn$ and US$ for the 1500 is 20%, while for the 1600 is 45%. No point in complaining about the unfairness of the currency exchange given the 2 dollars are at par (everyone North of the border does), but the percentage price difference between the 2 models in Cdn$ does not make any sense to me.
Kawasaki must not want to sell 1600s in Canada?
Does anyone have any insights into why the 1600 is so ridiculously over priced in Canada, yet at 10%, the difference is reasonable in the States?
