I have a 1989 Kawasaki kx500 bought it cleaned carburetor && it had straight 2stroke oil so cleaned it put it on && it gave me hell cranking (HAD) strong compression on kickstart but got it running && it ran perfectly for about a few hours on && off until it started blowing more & more smoke && quit running while riding && now it has low compression on kickstart... what's my problem --

Have you done a compression test? If so what are the numbers? What does the spark plug look like?
If you have access to a borescope camera, remove spark plug, insert camera and check out the piston top for holes. You may also see dents in the top of the piston which would indicate broken piston rings or foreign material being sucked thru the carb.

Took the exhaust fatty off && looked in I have a cracked piston so I'm sure I'll have to replace it but I appreciate the help any suggestions on the bore kit best for the 89 kx500??
