Hi All,

Great Forum!! I just found it this afternoon and thought I would seek help on this problem.

My dad recently bought a used 1989 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 with around 11,000 miles. The bike ran fine when he purchased it, no oil leaks.

However, after he changed the oil and filter on it the first time, it began
to leak oil out of the right hand side of the primary case. It's leaking
around some of bolt holes, as if there is too much pressure. Our first
thought was that we put too much oil in (it has a siteglass and we went to
about between 3/4 and the top of the glass. Now we've drained it down to
around a 1/4 in the glass and are still having the same problem.

Anyone have any ideas? Could it be the 20w/50w Castrol Motor oil he used?

Please feel free to direct all responses directly to me at:

Thanks in advance!
