I just bought a 1988 Kd80x but it is missing the engine. I haven't been able to find the original engine for this bike. I was wondering if anybody knows if I could use a late 80's Kx80 engine instead.

I'm sure you could make it work,but keep in mind that the kx80 engines from i think 83 0r 84 up are watercooled,so you would need a radiator also..I used to have an 82 kdx80 about 25 years ago and i remember reading that they used kx engines from earlier models.
