kdx200 timing

Can i just say my 1986 kdx200 runs great however when i put a stope light on it to check the timing the mark is out by about 30 degrees i then adjust it to get within 10 degrees of the mark however when the bike is cold it wont restart.can anyone help a brother out.( please note the rotor centre has been welded on so the keyway maybe out of alignment from the factory setting ).
