My WR250F has both... wouldn't trade it for anything.
The kick is a great backup in case the battery takes a dump (or you break the start button in a get-off like I did).
Granted, if the battery is TOTALLY shot, it's not going to start (tried that too)... I don't know what the difference is in the electrics between the YZ and WR, but the ignition module on the WR won't fire if the battery is completely shot.

I would agree with dual start.

I've found when you've been riding for ages and you stop for a little bit it takes loads of effort to kick it over because you're tired and thas where electric start comes in to its own.

the KLX 125 kicks over so easily it's not even funny. If you can swing it, look into the KLX140L. Electric start, disk brakes, perimeter frame. I will be buying my wife one in the spring.
Regarding the 125s, read thumpertalk concerning the "air screw mod" - it's the only way you'll be able to get a consistent start and smooth idle.
Good luck and have fun!

Kick it all the way dude. I have no issues with my KLX 300. Like the one guy said, less weight and less problems. Does the Yama come with both or e-start only? If e-start only can that idea fast.
Comes with both kick and electric.

I was looking at the 140L and actually got to sit on one...To much since it just came out...The shop was not willing to budge...His loss. My wife likes the bike so far...Me..I already want more power and suspension...Already looking at bigger bike...Trying to find one in the 34-36 inch seat height...Looking at the Suzuki and KXs...We will see...I defintely got the big after I took the bike on the trails near my house...Freaking silly fun just sliding leg out and riding all over the place...Little air here and there sorta scared me but after I settled down a bit I was taking it like any other ride...I was just blasting through the trails. But definitely after some steep hill sections, I realized this bike is definitely my wife's...Need more power now...I got the bug and no turning back and even the wife saw me riding it around like a kids bike and said I made riding the bike look too easy...Time to move up (Now you know why I do not recommend small starter bikes)...Did I max out it's capabilities? No...Power? Yes. I will say it again, this is fun!!! She loves it and even said I can get another bike down the road...HaHa...I started looking today  Big bike here I come!

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the feedback...I do want electric if I can...The kick start on a cold day was a pain as I was trying it. I just want to push and go. KX300 looks good but Honda and Suzuki have some nice offerings for height in their CRF and DRZ series...I definitely want travel and power...My wife took a picture of me on the bike and I looked way to big on it.

I will say it again this is fun!:D
