Thought I'd better change the oil on my 89 klf300,bought it s/h in sept, used it around the stable yard up to now ,but no idea when it last had an oil change.
So ,where is the filter? and is the drain located in the cutout behind the sump guard?
Yes I know I should buy a manual and when something actually goes wrong
I will
cheers
Lee:)

The oil filter is the round housing with two ears for bolts on the side of the engine. The oil plug is the 12mm bolt head plug with a gasket at the lowest point of the crankcase.

If you go to Kawasaki.com and follow the Owner Info link to the parts diagrams, you can print out the service specifications and then go to he parts diagrams and take a look at the diagrams for the engine covers and the crankcase to get a look at the location of the two parts.
