I have just purschased a KX 60 (92) for my son. e has had a little time riding until now. kicking into 1st allways engages the gear even with the clutch fully in. obviously this stalls the bike from a standstill. I have adjusted from the lowest to maximum clutch cable adjustments to no avail. Wat is the most likely cause? Is it a good bet that all I will need to replace are the friction plates? or is there a possibility that things could be worst?

many thanks for any advice.

is it hydraulically actuated? check that your clutch rod-pushing mechanism is functioning properly. Your plates are fine. Indication of worn plates would be the clutch slipping or not engaging entirely. you have the opposite problem.
