hoping that i could get some help splitting the case for my sons 99 KX 60, looking for any tips or tricks that anyone may have, i am trying to avoid paying my local dealer the $500 they want to split and install the new crank.

Also does anyone know where i can get a manual online?

$500 to split the cases??? That is grand theft! When I did my sons KX60 I removed everything from both sides of the motor and the dealer here charged me $20 to split the cases. You can buy a timing gear puller AutoZone.com | Shopping | Accessories | Product Detail - Great Neck Timing Gear Puller and get the correct bolts which I believe are 6mm/100mm. Use the timing plate bolt holes and that end of the crank snout to split the cases. It comes apart as long as all the case halve bolts are removed.
