I haven't heard of any recalls but the cold start prolly requires some experimentation. Sometimes i kick with choke on and no throttle won't start but smell some raw fuel from muffler. Turn choke off and after a few kicks it starts!??
hows the plug look before you start it? if it looks fouled sometimes it helps before you shut it down to run it out hard. I used to open my bike up before i loaded it in the truck. otherwise you could try moving the needle down one clip to lean it out a bit off the start. really depends alot on what the plug looks like
