Just bought a 1980 KX420. I've been having some bad luck finding parts for it. Any suggestions? Also, I've found KDX420s. Is this the same as the KX420? Few more question and forgive my ignorance, this is my first bike. The 2 stroke engine seems to have no source of oil. Other than the trans oil and the oil mixed in with the gas. Is this true? Wow. Also, if I cant find a pipe for this bike and I have to get one custom made, do I need a pipe with that center bulge? Or can I use a 4 stroke type muffler? Once again forgive my ignorance. Thanks for any help!

1. if they are both 2-strokes then you MAY be able to switch parts between them
2. thats how most 2-strokes work. transmission oil is seperate from the engine oil whch is delivered with a injector system or in the gas. DO NOT PUT STRAIGHT GAS IT THE BIKE IF IT USES PRE-MIX FUEL
3. yes
4. no
good luck, might try doing some searching on ebay etc. for parts.
