I rode bikes for years (dirt & street) but sold my last street bike a few years back. I've always had the hankerin' to own an older KZ1000.

Is there a year model that I should avoid?
Is there a year model that was considered "best"?
What model (LTD etc) is considered the most/least valuable?
Any suggestions?
THANKS!!!!!
Chuck

i've owned several kz's and the ones i've have the best luck with have been bone stock. all models seem to be pretty good to go as far as reliability(kaw pioneered fuel injection in 81). you can still find some with a lot of performance motor work at a reasonable price if that suits your fancy, just ask for all receipts to prove the performance parts and quality exists. i've also bought parts and sought advice from WWW.OLDKAWMAN.COM he seems quite knowledgeable. if there's anything else i can do let me know, good luck.
