Hello everyone,

After about 8 years of not riding I just bought a 1982 Kawasaki KZ550-C3 (LTD). I had a '83 440 LTD which I loved so I bought this one.

The only thing that it need at the moment is the front/rear sprockets, and chain. I was quite pleased with myself at being able to disassemble the sprockets and chain without any problems. I know nothing about the mechanical side of motorcyles.

My question is when i look for sprockets, is there a difference when deciding ratio of the front sprocket to the ratio of the rear sprocket in terms of the number of teeth?

When i pulled the sprockets off my front one was 16/tooth, and the rear was 38/tooth.
