If it's a shaft drive, it's probably the Spectre model not the LTD. Post a few pictures and I'm sure someone here will identify it.
Thanks for the reply will try to get a picture on asap.If it's a shaft drive, it's probably the Spectre model not the LTD. Post a few pictures and I'm sure someone here will identify it.
Two ways to post a picture. Click on the paper clip and upload from your computer. Or use photo bucket. Others can tell you more about that way. I've read that LTD covers will not fit a Spectre and vice versa however the emblems can be changed. Most of the mechanical parts are interchangeable so I suppose it is possible some one retrofitted shaft drive to an LTD.Trying hard to iclude a picture but its not being good.
I dont know if this will help but the passenger grab handle is not chrome but a plastic/rubber coated rail. The side panels do have ltd 750 on them but dont know if they were put on buy the person who imported it. hope this helps
The help and contacts are very much appreciated
Thanks for this post! I was not aware there were so many drive options on the 750LTD. I don't care much for the chain drive that I have so I'm watching for the parts needed to convert to shaft.I also own a 83 750 LTD Shaft, made the same year as the Spectre, which was a shaft drive too. The LTD 750's around that time had 3 drive systems. They were also chain driven, and one model had a belt drive. The Spectre and LTD Shaft have many parts that will interchange, they are almost the same bike just being cosmetically different, and I believe the suspension was air assisted on the Spectre.
Your chassis number is correct for the F1 LTD Shaft model, not the Spectre which if I recall correctly is the N model. Your grab rail is correct for the Shaft F1.
As far as side covers go, the LTD Shaft F1 and Spectre look to be the same shape and should swap, but the other LTD covers on the chain and belt models look different and may not fit properly. I don't know if the mounting pegs are spaced different on the covers, probably are as the frames are totally different.
That's quite an undertaking, is it possible? I know you will need to swap frames. Thanks for this post! I was not aware there were so many drive options on the 750LTD. I don't care much for the chain drive that I have so I'm watching for the parts needed to convert to shaft.
Swap frames? Whoa! Nope I guess I'll live with what I have. Just thought I might get away with changing the swingarm, wheel and part of the case. Oh well we can't all be Einstien .That's quite an undertaking, is it possible? I know you will need to swap frames.
you have a 1983 KZ750LTD Fmodel shaft drive. Try cyclepartsnation.com for new repacement parts from the states.Hi im new to this and being a returning biker need to learn alover again.
My bike was imported to the UK from The USA in 95 and i believe it is a 1983 model. Can anyone help with identifying the exact model the chassis number starts with JKAKZF1.
also on the chassis plate it says made in 09/82 it seems to obvious so i thought id ask.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where i can get some used original spares from.
Lots of questions from a first timer (to this forum at least)
Any other feedback/ideas appreciated
Thanks
