For any ladies that have jackets that are in the larger sizes, can you give me some feedback on the brand / size you have, and it's equipvalent to normal clothing sizes?

Different Brands seem to run differently. Joe Rocket seems like it runs smaller than others, and their size chart lists a XXL as a size 14 equivalent. TourMaster Trinity series has talls & plus sizes, but what does a 'plus small' equate to? Does anybody have a PowerTrip,or AlpineStars?

At 5'10" I'm having a tough time finding jackets that are large enough for my shoulders / arm length. The local stores seem to only carry Small to Large sizes, so I will probably have to order off the web. I'd love to get some feedback so I don't end up having to return jackets.

Thanks!

My BF (bretsk2500) bought me a Rocket Heartbreaker textile jacket. Now I'm 5 feet 2 inches, and a size 10/12, leaning closer to 12 with a B/C bra cup size... by the measurements in the Joe Rocket catalog, I needed a 2XL. So that's what BF ordered, but when the jacket came in, the sleeves were very long - over my knuckles - and the body of the jacket was pretty loose. Even with the waistbands as tight as they could go, I could easily have taken off the jacket without unzipping it.

I returned the jacket and ordered a XL. I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'll let you know how it fits. :)

Thanks, that helps. It's frustrating that the local shops don't carry much inventory in women's jackets, and I really don't want spend my time/money shipping back jackets that don't fit.

It's a pain, but if they are offering free shipping to you, might want to order 2 in different sizes with the idea of shipping one back. I would like to see more stores carry gear for women. I bought my Shift jacket when I bought my bike, and was just lucky it was a good fit and a reasonable price (they gave me 20% off on gear at the time). There was very little selection there. Since then, I've bought everything online and have been lucky with the size charts. Sometimes when I'm looking at something on a website and they don't have a size chart, I google for that manufacturer's size chart and so far I've always come up with it. Then I can measure myself for whatever and go on the size chart. Everything has fit so far except a pair of rubber things you can put over your boots for rain. Those were way too long and not near wide enough and I had to send them back.

I am 5'8", 150 lbs. I have a Joe Rocket Roxie jacket (leather) in a medium that fits wonderfully. I can get a thin long-sleeved shirt plus a lightweight fleece jacket on underneath it.

Over the summer, I tried on an EXO Scorpion Dahlia jacket (textile). The large size in that jacket fit me just right.

Sizes do vary wildly, so I recommend trying on many different styles and makes, if you can to some bike shops. Or, if you order online, don't be shy about returning what doesn't fit. I also have purchased gear in two sizes and returned the one that didn't fit (riding jeans). Newenough.com's website generally offers some realistic information on fit. They have the gals in the office try on the gear and report on fit; I have found that incredibly useful.

Good luck!

This is where I get most of my jackets.
So I don't think I'll be ordering from leather up again! I thought things were going well, got a SHIPPING notification...then get an e-mail that they don't even have it in stock. They wouldn't even offer to refund my money for an item they didn't even have and requested that I find something else. So I decided on some other items...and now I get ANOTHER e-mail - "These items aren't in stock." Then I was on hold for 20-25 minutes with customer service requesting to cancel that completely. They insisted I order something else and I flat out told them I won't deal with them again! I buy lots online and most places tell you if an item isn't in stock. I'd rather SEE that it isn't in stock then thing I've ordered it! ugh...Really frustrated right now! Just FYI if you guys consider trying them....I'll stick to New Enough sells motorcycle jackets, helmets, gloves, luggage, tires, parts, etc. :: New Enough, they got things shipped promptly AND tell what items aren't in stock! :)

Wow, usually Leather up says if something isn't in stock before you try to purchase (this happens to me alot, they hardly ever have my size when i'm in the mood to shop). My husband bought me a pair of boots I didn't like and they refunded his money (he can be quite the a hole so I guess they refunded the money just to get him out of their hair). My latest jacket came from New Enough. They seem to have my size and their jackets are nice. I'm going to check out she-rides.com. They are in metro atlanta so I can visit the actual store.

I was so nice about it the first time, but twice in a row! I don't get that kind of service usually and I won't continue to receive that either! I ordered from Motorcycle Superstore - Motorcycle Accessories and Motorcycle Gear for my gloves and helmet this time. They even SHOW if the item is available and how many days it takes to leave their wearhouse! New Enough was great also because they show when they are expecting to get the items in (the helmet I want they won't have until May, but the motorcycle superstore had it same price and free shipping with a great return policy!). I'm so antsy about getting my jacket and I need my helmet and gloves to put it all together of course ;)

My husband told me about the store She Rides since he is currently living in Atlanta. I am hoping to go there the next time I am in Atlanta (end of the month). They have an open house this Saturday (April 17) from 11 Am to 4 PM. I wanted to go but couldn't get an affordable plane ticket.

I'm slim but 5'7 so I know a bit of your pains of being to tall for things. To fit into something in the body I need a small but that doesn't bring jackets down to my hips and show my wrists by allot. I find a lot of the jackets shorter. The Icon and Joe Rocket jackets I find larger in the middle but short in the sleeves. I find the scorpions smaller in the middle but longer in the length (at least the elektra jacket and some of the newer ones in stores anyway). As for sizing I'm 5'7, 120lbs, and I take a small in jackets and large in pants with Scorpion. I got a medium in Joe Rocket and sinched it in all the way just for the length so it covered me butt and arms but I can pull it over my head which would kinda suck in a crash...

I haven't tried any alpinestars but as far as shoulder length goes I find icon a lot larger in the shoulder area. I'm looking into alpinestars and dainese right now myself since they're suppose to be a fair quality. If anyone has an opinion on what gear tall slim people with hips should get let me know!

Evening ladies! I want to buy a jacket for my wife but don't know what to get. I'd like something to protect her but something comfy as well. She is very petite about 105 lbs and 5 ft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
