The last one that sold on eBay went for like $70 shipped.

I have one or 2 off a 1986 KX250. If I have 2, I can let one go. Don't know for sure it will fit but most of the stuff in the 1980's swaps.

My advice is- get rid of that toy if you think all the parts for it you need are going to be free.

YOU ARE WASTING MY TIME AND YOURS

You don't want to waste your money and time.

Lots of Kawasaki parts interchange. You should not limit your search to one year.

I know "don't know for sure if it will fit but probably" can be a frustrating answer. Truth is I have not tried it before, but from what I know about these bikes is they did not change much when it comes to the small things. It is cheaper and smarter for a manufacturer to use parts that swap.

Unfortunately, finding someone that has a definite answer isn't always possible in a timely manner. You have to take the chance and sometimes you get burned.

This info is about a new kick lever I bought.

I believe this may be the answer:

This is a BRAND NEW aftermarket replacement kicker / kick start lever for several Kawasaki KE , KDX , KL , KLX , & KX -series offroad motorcycles. This brand new kicker is an excellent, high quality replacement part that should give you years of dependable service. It is made of high quality steel and chrome. This kicker is the equivalent of Genuine Kawasaki OEM Part # 13064-1009 , 13064-1018 & 13064-1027 .

This Kickstart Lever fits:

KE125-A7 KE125 (1980) ( KE-125 / KE 125 )
KE125-A8 KE125 (1981)
KE125-A9 KE125 (1982)
KE125-A10 KE125 (1983)
KDX175-A1 KDX175 (1980) ( KDX-175 / KDX 175
KDX175-A2 KDX175 (1981)
KDX175-A3 KDX175 (1982)
KE175-D2 KE175 (1980) ( KE-175 / KE 175 )
KE175-D3 KE175 (1981)
KE175-D4 KE175 (1982)
KE175-D5 KE175 (1983)
KDX250-A1 KDX250 (1980) ( KDX-250 / KDX 250 )
KDX250-B1 KDX250 (1981)
KDX250-B2 KDX250 (1982)
KDX250-B3 KDX250 (1983)
KL250-A1 KLR250 (1978 ) ( KL-250 / KL 250 / KLR-250 / KLR 250 / KLR250 )
KL250-A1A KLR250 (1978 )
KL250-A2 KLR250 (1979)
KL250-A3 KLR250 (1980)
KL250-A4 KLR250 (1981)
KL250-A5 KLR250 (1982)
KL250-C1 KLR250 (1983)
KL250-C2 KLR250 (1984)
KLX250-A1 KLX250 (1979) ( KLX-250 / KLX 250 )
KLX250-A2 KLX250 (1980)
KX250-A6 KX250 (1980) ( KX-250 / KX 250 )
KX250-A7 KX250 (1981)
KX250-B1 KX250 (1982)
KX250-C1 KX250 (1983)
KX250-C2 KX250 (1984)
KX250-D1 KX250 (1985)
KX250-D2 KX250 (1986)

This leads me to believe there is a difference between 1986 and 1987, but you see what I am saying about parts that swap.

What you can do is measure the Outer Diameter of the shaft and look for one with the same inner diameter.

This is great info, I suspected the spline area/ diameter is not much different on 250 models across many years.

And they are getting expensive for some bikes. $50-60 for used ones? You gotta be rich to have a crappy old dirtbike.
