Have you tried calling Beartooth Kawi and seeing what they have to say about it, look at the top of the screen, their number is there.

Your best bet is probably tweek's lowering kit. It's around $129 and it's just a longer tie-rod. It would be very easy to install. It works with your stock shock abosorber. I bought the progessive 1" lower shock absorber. It was $377 from cruisercustomizing.com. Yeah, it's better than stock, but not too noticeable. Probably not as low as what you would get from scootworks.

Thanks guys but I havent had much luck yet.

I want to go down 2" I don't know if 1" is worth the effort.

It's really starting to piss me off how hard it is to find this and other stuff for this bike.

I'll most likly dump it by the end of the summer and pick up something else.

re

classic's right - the 11-1/2 shock really lowers it about 1-3/4"
if you measure from the rear fender tip before and after install

3" is prolly max on the 1600,by then its a rigid
and even those shocks will bottom out 2up or bad r/r tracks

pro shocks or cutting the shocks will put my saddle bags to close to the pipes. Or at least I think they will. Wont they?

re

cutting the shocks will for sure - but DON'T do it!

i've known 2 different people who cut the shocks on a 1500 classic
and both said don't do it-made the ride terrible-
much better off to use a shorter shock , imo a good way to achieve
the slammed look on these 1500/1600's is to use the shorter shock,
a little wider tire, and a taildragger fender that combo makes it look
pretty good 8)
