Done to death I know, BUT...

  • I have a VN800 Classic (bobbered so single rider only), looking to go 2.5" - 3" lower.
  • Scootworks are no more, so can't purchase their kit
  • I am in the UK, nobody sells anything like this
  • I would like to cut/extend the trailing arm and lower it manually as per some old instructions, but these instructions no longer exist on old post links
To manually lower do I have to remove the rear wheel first to remove the trailing arm AND shock? Or can I do this just by removing the two side panels? I am not quite sure what to do with the shock once I have refitted the newly extended trailing arm. Any advice welcome.
