I'm thinking about getting some lowers for my bike. My legs really get dinged when I'm on the highway. I'm just wondering how many of you have them and whether you'd recommend them. I'm not worried much about style and looks, more about utilitarian purposes.

I don't have any but from what I understand, once I get my windshield mounted the effect of the wind both above and Below the windscreen gets worse. I plan to add lowers to help with this.

I have lowers on the Vulcan and they are worth every penny.

I built my own and they work great. Before I couldn't ride above 50mph without the head buffeting being so bad the road signs vibrated. Now I can light and smoke a cigar and wear a ball cap without it blowing off at 70mph.

My son took my dad on a ride yesterday. They didn't go very fast because my dad's kind of scared of going fast (even though he drove a HD knuckle when he was young). His baseball cap blew off and they had to go back to get it. I think he'll be happy to go on a ride after I get my windshield and lowers on.
