Lowers

I'm thinking about getting some lowers for my bike. My legs really get dinged when I'm on the highway. I'm just wondering how many of you have them and whether you'd recommend them. I'm not worried much about style and looks, more about utilitarian purposes.

My son took my dad on a ride yesterday. They didn't go very fast because my dad's kind of scared of going fast (even though he drove a HD knuckle when he was young). His baseball cap blew off and they had to go back to get it. I think he'll be happy to go on a ride after I get my windshield and lowers on. :D
