Hey all, back tryin to get the black kaw running proper.

Here's my scenario: I currently have a 38T Rear and 16T front sprocket on my bike. I'm planning on upping the front by 2 teeth and lowering the back by 1 tooth to increase my fuel econ and lower rpms at 70+ mph.

Here's my question: How many links (if any) do i need to go up? I've got some slack in the chain now and it feels like i can just keep the 530x106 on there, but I'd like to be positive mainly cuz i'm a cheap-o and I don't wanna buy something i'm not gonna use.

pinchin' pennies,
Marcus

You can always try the new sprockets and see if the old chain fits... if not buy another one. I'd say go -2 in the rear, as I believe that should make the 106 link work fine..... but don't hold me to that.

Ahh, my message was vague. I'm gonna replace all three components. I'd just rather buy them all together instead of sizing one piece at a time.

I'd replace all three, but I couldn't tell ya what size chain you need. If you get one too big its easier to take out links than try and add some.
