I would check that "Craftsman warranty" it only covers their hand tools that are made in the USA, not the items made in china such as the drills, sanders & jacks. The Craftsman jack is made by the same company that makes it for PepBoys & others. The nice thing about the Sears one is the color.I have the Craftsman motorcyle jack. $85 Really nice and the best thing is the Craftsman warranty.

I wish I had room for that! Squeezed a 4-car garage and shop into a 2-car garage (Lathe, Milling maching, drill presses, welders, etc.) maybe later when the shop is built?I personally spent a little bit more and got one of these. It is an amazing piece of hardware for the money and I use it for both my cruiser and my sports bike. It is much more stable then any jack and gives me that extra piece of mind.

The problem with an angle iron is that it is straight, your Nomad like my 1600 Classic is that the engine hangs below the frame. You might want to go with an idea like oak notched out for the frame & engine.Chris,
I bought the one with the $30 rebate from Pep Boys too. When I got it home, the rails on the jack were too short to reach across the frame in the front of my Nomad so I bought a piece of angle, cut it to the right length, drilled holes where the pins go through, and installed the angle over the existing rails with 4 new bolts. I think it'll work OK now.
I caught the crud just after I got it fixed so I haven't tried it yet. So far the only thing it's done is jack up my 5 and 7 year old pals from across the street. (They also love the rolling stool I have in my shop). Go figure.

We covered this issue here:$40 jackI would check that "Craftsman warranty" it only covers their hand tools that are made in the USA, not the items made in china such as the drills, sanders & jacks. Yep. I've pondered that question. I've thought of using the notched wood. I have some thick rubber blocks to use right now, but I don't want to have to place them every time. I might glue them on with some weatherstriping adhesive. The problem with an angle iron is that it is straight, your Nomad like my 1600 Classic is that the engine hangs below the frame. I have the same kind. I had to make some wood frame from 2 by 4 pieces. The frame sits on the jack, and the bike sits on the frame. Have worked for me so far. I use it even for changing the car's engine oil. I use the main jack, then put the bike jack next to it, just in case the main guy gives up..Got this one on sale for $119 with my wife's Craftsman Club discount took it down to $107. Got it instead of the "Box" style jack because I didn't want to fool with blocking up my bike. Roll this one under and hoist it, no time with 2x6's, etc.
Are you serious? You get under a car with just a jack holding it up and then trust another jack for your safety? Jack stands are like $20 at Autozone. Do yourself a favor and pick some up.I use it even for changing the car's engine oil. I use the main jack, then put the bike jack next to it, just in case the main guy gives up..
