LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- A motorcyclist died after fleeing from a traffic stop late Thursday night in Lakewood and crashing.

Police pulled over the man, who was in his thirties, near 100th and Bridgeport for a traffic infraction, police said.

The motorcyclist fled and crashed into a car pulling out of a parking lot at 109th and Bridgeport.

The man was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, where he died.

The road was closed for about four hours while police investigated.

People are crazy. You know if he would have just stopped he would have been out a couple hundred bucks and been able to live the rest of his life.

maybe. Or he was out with warrants for other offenses and was going to jail. Not saying that's a reason to run and die like that, but people don't think reasonably sometimes.

he could have just killed a man and might have thought somebody saw it and the officer was going to get him. some people think death is better than jail.
