I checked the speed sensor and I get continuity the specified 4 times per revolution but in between I get approx 6 ohms of resistence. Should it read open or infinity. If I leave the speedometer cable disconnected the engine runs fine. Lots of power and no missing but the warning buzzer sounds almost costantly unless I lower my speed to just above idle. If I connect the speedometer cable back up then I get the intermittant buzzer and engine sputters at various speeds. Any thoughts or suggestions?

On our 1000 the buzzer only sounds and cuts out the ignition (or retards the spark) at 25 MPH +/-. It is 3 days drive from here so I cannot help with checking values for you. Max

Thanks for the reply Max. I am not sure yet but am leaning toward a problematic speed sensor. Not completly failed but on the verge of it.
