i bought a 73 TZ-750A , yamaha.. for 30,000EUR and it just arrived yesterday , from the previous owner in france..so i decided to take the two stroke, four cyl down the road for my first boot on it.. transmission oil, 116 octain fuel premixed 20:1 with Castrol R30,bleeded it out.. so i get on it and realized just how small the bike is, fifty-four inch wheelbase and my nees overhang on the cutouts on the tank by four inches, so i peddle it down the driveway..drop the clutch, it skids and comes to a halt.. it seemed to have a lot of compression thanks too the dual crankshafts, so i push it back up and tryed it again in second gear, and BANG it fires and takes off way faster then i expected in second gear, felt like i reached 60mph in half a second at only 10% of the throttle. so i slow down and put it in neutral.. and let the beast idle, and listen to the sound of 230hp of two stroke four cylindar, sounds like a million marbels shooten around everywere inside the block. it seemed to run good .. so this morning i took it too WERA strip, and raced it against a kz-1000 and a ducati 900ss.. i took off slow at the back of the pack but i was first into the first corner, then took off down the strait away and pulled 6 or 7 bike lengths on the other riders , and i wasnt even beeing agressive.. so i decided to pull back a little and get used to the bike.. and then when the last lap hit i would give it all it had and take the win.. so i followed them for about 6 laps.. i was about 20 bike lengths behind the leader , so i gunned it and in a about 400feet id already passed them , and was ready to approch the last turn and the bike died.. it seems some primer had gotten into the fuel tank and clogged up the 2nd and 3rd floater bowl,so that was it for today.. the bike seemed relentless even at low rpms, i think its cabable of doing 230mph+ , ... heres a picture, i got more developed i just got to scan them.. im getting a new fairing made by airtech streamlining.. just to give some eye appeal to the dull monster,

i payed $46,940 CAD for the bike.. but then their was shipping, that was about $3,000EUR it isnt that much.. but if i payed for insurance on everything id own.. id have to put down a collosal monthly payment plan, witch means no parts.. no fuel no food no nothing, threw out the year after winter i make alot of sales.. i have to sell these bikes to make more of them, but only for about 4 months.. the rest of the year theirs to little buisness for a new bike, to stay open.. id just lose money,so in those 4 months i have to spread the money out for another 8 months..
theirs just no way i could make the payment...

cheers

the tz360 made 130 horsepower, and even it could get 180 if you were creative enough, think about it.. why did they ban it from the ama for beeing to fast if a gixxer 750 can beat it. and that was in the good old days when riders actually had to be athletes to really drive a bike to its potential,

Edited? Play nice? ROFLMAO.

The 2 strokes are before my time, but considering that the specs for a 2-stroke from the 70's are nearly up to par with modern sportbikes ie 130+ hp with less than 400lb dry weight. I bet it does fly. :p

Just wish the pic worked
