hi all,

i owned a zzr600E1 (year 93) a.k.a zx6E.
quiet a few weeks ago, i found up that the frame (chasis) under the feul tank crakced.

it seems that the cracks is caused by the unproper weld of the frame.

can anyone suggest a solution?

thank you in advance.

Hi my zxr 750 also has a 10mm crack under the L/H side frame it was like that when i bought it 2 years ago, i have put a pop mark on the crack and its never moved so im going to leave it.
you can weld it but its a big job to stip the bike unless you can get to the ares ok then try welding it, but i would go to a good welding shop as the frame is very thin and its easy to blow through..

another thing you could try is fusion welding this is quite easy to do and its more controlable than tig or mig.... its a bit like soldering kits are cheap i have used this typy of welding on footrests .sumps and swing arms ...

thanx to revilo & qkenuf4u.

i sent my bike to a welder. he did a good job.. just like the rest of the welded part. and i had it sprayed silver.

later i'll post a picture of my welded frame.

p/s : a new frame.. hmm. that sounds costly..
