I noticed this weekend that I have a few spots on the right side of my tank about where my leg would hit while riding where the tank is shiny. I have the flat black/red mean streak so shiny is not good. I'm not sure if it is just from rubbing or possibly a stain from gas or something else. I tried washing it with soap and water and it looks no different. Anyone have any advice on what I should try using to clean this or any ideas what this may be? I have some meguiars blemish/scratch remover in the garage, but I'm not sure if it is a good idea to use that on my paint. I've also heard mixed reports of wheter or not waxing is a good idea with this paint. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Waxing is always a good idea to protect the paint, but it will kill SOME of the flat.
Abrasive products were designed for glossy paint finishes and will ruin the flat clearcoat on your Meanie.

The flat black Meanie uses the standard Ebony tins with the graphics and a flat clear sprayed over everything. Your spots are probably from wear on the clearcoat from your jeans.
