I just picked up a used 99 kx125 in pretty decent shape. I have a problem with the clutch, when the engine is running, when i pull in the clutch lever and put it in gear, it engages right away and the clutch does nothing. I have tried to adjust the cable and there is no difference. It looks like the previous owner broke the little stamped piece that the cable attaches to before it goes into the case. I have no idea what to call this linkage. They jb welded the end of the cable to the linkage.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Its the clutch release actuator, it pushes a bar that releases/engages the clutch on the other side of the motor. This lever is one piece and you should replace it if it is damaged. You need to take the clutch cover off, undo the clutch as if changing plates and slide the bar out then that actuating lever should just pull out. While its out also change the seal. This is where you get water in the transmission using a pressure cleaner.
