Hi all. I have a 91 250hs (or eliminator). I have the service manual supplement for it but I cannot find the base manual anywhere. Today while searching ebay, someone was selling the base manual for a ninja 250r with the 250hs supplement. Does this mean that the hs has basically a ninja 250r engine? Is this the base manual I need to get to have the right info to service my bike?

About three years ago I called Kawasaki head office in California asking about some specs. for my '84ZN1100. They ended up printing me a copy of the base manual and the ZN supplement for about $30 plus shipping.

I'm pretty sure that the base manual for your 250hs is gonna' be the 250r . That's why the 250hs is a "supplement". The two bikes share the same engine just like the base manual for mine is the KZ1100 and there is a supplement for the ZN1100.

If you can't get an original copy, Ole Yeller's suggestion is is a worthwhile option. I would print it out on heavy stock paper and put it in a 3-ring binder for ease of use.
