Found a 2003 Mean Streak in LA for a great price. Flew down and gave it a hundred mile test drive. Drove great. Flew back to Washington state and arranged to have it shipped up. Shipper drove it to business and loaded it up. Got a call tonite and was told the driver would be driving through the area tonite, ahead of schedule, and offered to drop it off. Because of road construction and a tight, single road neighborhood, I offered to neet him in town. Meet him in a Target parking lot at 11 PM and take possesion of my bike. Turn on the key, power and lights come on, but the engine won't crank. Only hear a light click up front. Try a jump, still nothing. Got as far as jumping the solenoid(?) behind the coolant reservoir. Managed to get the engine to crank, but stopped after a couple of back-fires. Didn't want to risk screwing up the fuel injection. Gave up for the night, but brought the battery home to charge it over night, in case that's part of the problem.
Does anyone have an idea what's causing the problem? I need to get it home before someone desides to screw with it. Ideas???

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the battery's kaput. FYI, NEVER boost a motorcycle with a running car. You can run the car with the bike off to charge the battery, but when you try to start make sure the car isn't running. Car electrical systems produce too much current and can destroy costly parts of a bike's electrical system.

It's a quick check for you in the daylight.

After you test the batt and check the wires check the wires on the bars at the base of the cluch lever they may have come loose or completely off also check the engine kill switch, you can also try to catch it in gear but make sure to use 2nd. hope some of this helps.
