Hi, I'm new here. I'm interested in converting/adding a kickstart to 1988 kz1000P drivetrain. Couldn't find good any good sources for reading.
I'll appreciate any advice. Thank you

As far as I know, none of the post 1980 (except 81 cop bike) 1000/1100's had a kick starter, so it's not going to be a case of retro fitting one.

Hope someone else has better news for you.

The engine has no provision for a Kick Starter... it's not a practical conversion - the only way of achieving it would be to replace the engine with one from 1980 or earlier - and that's not a straight swap as the engine mount points are different.

thanks for your input fellas! I guess I will put that off untill winter and ride the hell out of it this season!
