I just bought this 1994 kx125 and when I go to start it, it starts up but dies almost suddenly, the only way I can keep it from dying is if I keep giving it gas by moving the throttle. What can be the problem. Also one more thing, I have a lot of white smoke coming out of my muffler and oil as well, could this be part of the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

you may need to have the carb adjusted
its made so you can have it idle or have it die
when you let go of the throttle
and yes most 2 strokes throw a little oil out the pipes
if theres to much oil you might be running the wrong gas mix
most riders like it to die because to much idling fouls the spark plug
I have a 03kx250 and the gas mix is 32/1

good luck Muckyman just throwin in the fact that my 91 kx250 also prefers 32/1 ratio as muckyman's bike does. also i adjust my idle so it dies, reason being that i hate wipin out only to watch my bike runnin on as if it were laughin at me! safety measure if you ride on tracks with multiple other riders to have it adjusted that way. :idea: :?:
