I got new bars and new grips. Drilled the hole on the new bars on the throttle side in the wrong place but thats another story. Got the old grip off the throttle without hurting either the throttle or the grip. I read about using hairspray to install the new grips and heard enough positive stories to try it. Well I might as well have used olive oil. Both grips spin freely. Can I slide them off and rinse them out and try something else or am I shopping for new grips?

It shouldn't hurt anything to rinse them out.
I've never used hair spray or any glue for that matter. They always stay put after a while.
