Hi All,
Just introducing myself. I live in Idaho. I am presently in the process of restoring an old KD100 dirt bike as a winter project to do with my son. It was parked 15 years ago after the kickstarter stripped out. We have it torn down to the frame and are almost ready to split the case and begin the engine rebuild. Some people may ask why. I ask myself that at times. I guess I just like this sort of thing. I'm hoping to "meet" some folks on here that may have more knowledge than me about these bikes.
Cheers,
CW

Welcome aboard CW.

We all learn from each other here. If you post pictures of your progress and ask questions, I am sure a lot of us will learn more about your KD100 and be able to help out if you have any questions. Collectively we have a very broad base of knowledge here and many will willingly share that knowledge.

Personally I have learned a lot from the members here. As a former educator I lived by the saying:

"Say not that you know a subject, until you have tried to teach that subject".

No matter how well I thought I knew the subject matter, a student would inevitably ask a question that I had never considered before and was stumped. It taught me that there was ALWAYS more to learn about anything and this site reveals this to me almost on a daily basis.

We hope you enjoy your stay here and look forward to watching your progress. I have to admit I am a bit envious of your KD100. I would love to find a small bike like that to restore.

Thank you for the warm welcome you guys. I agree that giving something new life is very satisfying. One time one of my son's friends said, "wow, your house is like a museum of your dad's hobbies" because pretty much every room has something that I built or restored. WFO-KZ: glad to hear you are a former educator. I myself am a school administrator. I will start a thread with the rebuild.
