Slidell ,Louisiana currently hello to all.

Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you got a good deal on the bike.

For a good primer on where to get parts, start on the thread link below. It's an older thread but largely still relevant. Don't worry about the title stating it is for KZ-Z1 bikes. But I would also suggest you try your local dealer. Most will provide you with free shipping so don't forget to figure that in when you shop around.

The carb diaphragms can be found easily on EBAY (around $35 bucks ea., change both of them). I would recommend taking the carbs apart as much as you can, and soaking them in a can of Berryman Chem-Dip. This stuff really gets into all the passages, nooks and crannies. The can has a basket in it so the parts won't fall through, and is reusable. You will have to drain all the fluids to play it safe, and make sure there is fluid in there. Those bikes customize very very nicely. They are solid machines. For $300 bucks, every dollar you put into it will return you $2.00. IMHO :)

I ride a 97 ' vulcan 800 classic, parts are not a problem, also you should be able to get the carb going. The 800 is a great motorcycle you will really enjoy it once you get her going.
Any of the online motorcycle stores will have items. Kawasakipartshouse has pretty much everything for your carb.
