Hey everyone! Say hello to BentRod. He's a new member posting in the Vintage section. http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/vintage-motorcyle-info/62903-restoring-1981-750-ltd.html
If you don't ride 2 up, try to find an old KZ1000C or P (police model) If you can find one that hasn't been torn up, they are great bikes. Very comfortable for sustained highway and/or in town. You can usually get them at a good price and there are lots of parts available.I'm definately looking for an older sport touring bike... i was considering some hondas, and if I could get my mits on a suzuki gs850 I wouldhave it in an instant (I just know them better...) but I have been told that the old Kawasaki bikes are fairly reliable all round, where as Suzuki's GS line, and relative had notoriously charging componants, and Honda's CB, CL, CM, and CX line of bikes all got a death tick around 25 to 30k. I was also thinking about a Yamaha XS for a while, but they don't seem to be very common.
anyways.. I'm fan of the late 70s to mid 80's bikes. they are relatively cheap, simple to work on, and generally over built... so here I am looking for a Kawi.
by the way,, A2rider. the commitment poster.. when you are beyond screwed.. is my desktop back ground...
Sorry to hear it's so far gone. I'm sure you'll find something soon.haha
Hello everyone, and thank you... seems like a great community here, should be nice. I do have some bad news.. no pics of the bike.. I got all excited but when i started to dig, the bike was lost cause. bearings are all shot to heck, it leaks oil by the bucket. Tank is rusted, and I'm worried that if i hot tank it I'll get holes. Exhaust is questionable at best. Spark in 3 of 4 cylinders, stearing head bearings need to be completely replaced, and the runners either replaced or surfaced. needs tires, bat, cables, brake pads, rear rotor could use a turning... at that point i stopped looking and put my cash away..
I'm still looking at Kawasaki bikes though, so I will be around.. just have to find a nice one for sale.
