Hello all,
I am new the Kawasaki family, but not new motorcycles or riding. I bought a 2009 Kawasaki Concours and am slowly ticking down the maintenance needs of the bike. The bikes in pretty good shape overall, but needs a little TLC ( Time, Labor, Cash).
On the list new battery, change all the fluids, new tires, new brake pads, and maybe some new bulbs for brightness.
I already did the battery, then I went on to clearing both the clutch and front brake master cylinders of their dirty fluid.
The bike road, sounded, and functioned great afterwards...
But then both master cylinders lost pressure after a few days. So I went back and bleed them again, and a few days later there was no pressure. So I watched and read some instructions on bleeding them, still the same issue occurred.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Well I used DOT4 which is what the cap on the master cylinder said to use.Maybe the brake fluid you used was incompatible with what was already in the system?

I am in agreeance on the idea of new seals, but it's odd that both clutch and front brake master cylinder lost pressure after the process...
I did just read that one person had been having a similar issue, and he added Teflon tape to his bleeders and it took care of the issue. He said air was escaping through the treads of the bleeders. I may try that remedy to see if it does the trick.
But likely I am going to rebuild both master cylinders.
Not sure how tape will help. The bleeders do not seal on the threads. Now if someone overtorqued the bleeders they may have destroyed the ability to seal. In that case I would try a new bleeder screw.
What colour was the old fluid? I realize it may have been dark and dirty, but did it have any colour tint at all?
