MamaG, I love that bike. It is bad a$$. I could see you riding along with so many people and projecting a "Don't Tread on me" image. It is mean. I love it!!
It needs just the right size rear fender, preferable something pulled off something vintage. A cut up 1930-31 Model "A" Fender would be just right, sized to fit, right lines.
I'd really try to rebuild the original Brake Cylinder. I have an old M.G., and after buying 3 that leaked, I just honed the old one, and let the seal swell up in some Brake fluid for 5 minutes (Brake fluid makes some rubber swell). It was a real p.i.a. to get in, but it hasn't leaked in 23 years.
