Hi everyone. New here. Waiting for my 2008 Ninja 250R to be delivered to dealer (not till February! :icon_frow ) Does anyone have any quick methods to break in or scrub the tires? any way to do it chemically or manually? (Last new bike i got i dumped it on a rotary 1/2 mile from the dealership when i picked it up brand new - dont want to do that again).

Welcome. A light buffing with sand paper works well on new tires. Simply riding easy for 100 miles will not get the mold release agent off the sides of the tires, the part you really need when you hit that first curve.

Welcome

Welcome to the forum. As far as your tires are concerned, brand new tires will also need to be broken in. Your owner's manual should tell you that as well. As mentioned above, take it easy for the first 100 to 150 miles on the curves and you should be ok. Ride easy on your way home in two months time.

Thank you for the advice everyone, I'll keep you informed how the bike is when i get it Tod and anyone else interested.

Now I just have to wait impatiently for the local motorcycle show in February to buy my helmet and jacket, etc. I was going to go buy them this weekend but i figured i could probably get a good deal at the bike show.
