I came across a non running 1986 Ninja 600R tht has the airbox cut out of it and K&N air filters slapped on it. Anyone here know how to reroute the hoses to bypass the air suction system? Like everything else on this bike I am doubting the current setup.

I'm not sure if the 86 is much different then my 88 but from what I've been reading about removing the airbox, you just need to make sure the vacuum system on the carbs is closed:

Remove egr system, cap it somehow at the engine... and cap vacuum on carbs 1and4 (I just ran a hose from 1-4 and it seems to run ok) and, run a hose straight from 3 to the gas tank, assuming your's is vacuum activated. anyways, that's what I've gotten from the research I've been doing.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
