problem with mine nomad

the only problem I've had is the gears was slipping during shifting. I took back to the dealer they told me it had something to do with a locking washer that came loose. They fix it and I haven't had anymore problems. I have a 2001 model silver and blue.

Hi Peewee46

I have a 04 Nomad. Same colors. Bought new 4/04. Have 5100 aleady.
Great bike. Get alot of looks.

Only problems so far is I had some momentary clutch slippage when the clutch discs got real hot after inching along 1/4 mile up this steep hill to get into a Bike show. Being an 85 degree day didn't help either. After the bike cooled down the clutch operated normal. Spoke with dealers service dept. they recommended changing the oil from 10w40 to 20w50. It would help resolve some of the issue and is also recommended for hotter weather. They explained any wet clutch bike driven in that manner can and could experience that problem.

Happy Riding

Hey, Pete. I found a still-in-the-crate 2003 in early June this year, so I got the red and beige I was hoping for. 4500 miles on it so far, one slight problem was the famous snapping noise in rear wheel. Taken care of right away and no other glitches. I have a trailer hitch and Dart trailer we use for camping. I'm coming from GL1800 country, so the horsepower drop was VERY noticeable, but I'm liking it just fine now. Have you tried the Edmonds lowers? You will not believe the reduction in head buffeting!!!
