Hello Does anyone have any ideas.... I have a new KLX125L 2004 The prob is that if you come to a stop put the bike in neutral then want to go again. you pull in the clutch and put it in 1st it will not go into 1st. BUT if you pull in the clutch and hold down the shift lever let the clutch out slowly ( holding down the shift lever) it will click into 1st. Then pull the clutch back in and you are now ready to go. Also when i am behind my son in the trails i hear a sound like a loose chain or somthing but the chain is OK

This does not happen all the time but about 15% of the time

Thanks for any help

A lot of bikes have a neutral locator which makes it easier to hit neutral which also causes the problem you are describing. I either shift into first before I stop or if I'm sitting in neutral I ease out on the clutch then shift to first. You shouldn't have to hold the shifter down.

As far as the noise need more info

i was running into that same problem and had prematurely blamed low oil level for causing it. I'll have to try that method you both mentioned and see if it makes any difference. thanks
