:) so i put all the presents under the tree-the wifey hit the bed and
i threw on a jacket and went for a blast(mistake#1)
it fired right up but it deffinately didnt like the midnight mud,
1/2 throttle to wfo little powerband and no top end-
thought it might be the slick conditions ,so i turned around and limped it home, out of the gate it screams but its got nuttin from there,
any thoughts or ideas on this, plug looks brandy new---too lean?

Perhaps if you give it a make and model it will run better.

giving it a make and model helped the low end
but never the top,LoL

its a 93 kx 125

How cold was it? Last time I rode a 2 stroke in really cold weather I had to stop periodically to let the heat from the bottom end soak up to the top end. Took me a while to get home.:frown:

the bike was on the bad ones and i was on the good ones,
but seriously it was wierd, it reved thru the gears but there was no punch
and at the end of 3rd,4th,5th it seemed to peak real weak, and go flat,
again it coulda been me, dark, no lites going for it but i know the
bawaaaaa sound it makes and it was GONE,i don t know the REAL history
on this piece, but i think its reed time, any recomedations on that front,
stock,pro,rad3--?

thanks much

The boowah sound says that it could be lean, especially if it was really cold out. If the needle was set too lean you would get a boowah sound, and it would be slower to pickup from lower rpm's.

YurFatMom then asked: What drugs were you on, during that ride?

I was a pseudo-college student at the time, so I can't remember what the drugs were that day.
I was riding a borrowed Yamaha 50 Special, where the head had monster cooling fins to make it look bigger- at least that's my opinion of them. They were HUGE! I would be riding along in the COLD wind, and the bike would sputter and die. I would have to pull over, choke it, start it, run it on choke until it was warm enough to run without it, idle for a minute or two and then ride for five or six minutes. It was nuts.
